Acetabular Preparation Acetabular reaming Appropriate reaming of the acetabulum is important for the cup to be fully seated within. All articular cartilage, osteophytes, and any soft tissues should be removed throughout the reaming process. It is important to understand the labeled size on the U-Motion II + acetabular instrument (Reamer and Cup Trial) is an absolute dimension, however the implant has 0.35 mm surface coating thickness in each side.
